With the multitude of games coming out and real life rearing it's head, some of our moderators and officers have moved on. I would like to thank the officers and moderators who have helped to get the forums started this first year and have moved on.
I would now like to introduce some very well people in new roles.
ElCoyote and T72on1 have agreed to become officers and I am thankful for their willingness to serve.
The following are new moderators -
KS and Mark1030 - General Discussion
ReleaseTheEvil - Monk
HellsBells - Barbarian

Changing of the Guard |
As many of you know, I havent been able to log into D3 for quite some time, work and life have gotten too busy for me to devote as much time and attention as you all deserve from me. It is for this reason that Teep and myself feel it time to hand of the reins of the D3 branch to one who time and time again shows what it means to be a Basiner.
It is with the upmost honor that I welcome Smittyphi to the D3 administration.

Maintenance - January 23rd 6pm (GMT-8) |
This is not really the correct forum to post this, so please move it to the news forum if required.
I recently posted this over on the D2 forums:
We'll be updating the Amazon Basin forums on January 23rd 6pm (GMT-8). It's impossible to say at this stage, precisely what downtime to expect, but you should assume that some downtime will occur. If you find you can't access the forums on this day, try again after a few hours and hopefully the maintenance will be completed.
Update: The downtime is expected to be minimal (30 minutes or so per forum). Posted By: Dr Morbius on 22 January 2013 - 11:15 AM | Comments: 4

Basin Fund Drive - 2013 |
Thankfully, our previous fund drive raised enough money to keep us running for two and a half years. However, our next server payment will use the remainder of our Basin funds.
Asking everyone to help isn't any fun for me, but y'all know the way things work by now. $99 a month keeps our dedicated server accessible to the world. That is our major cost, but there are other minor things that tend to add up as well.
As mentioned, our last fund drive netted us enough money to secure our server on a preferred rate due to being able to sign a two-year contract. It was only a difference of about $10 a month, so there isn't a huge need to duplicate those efforts. However, I do need to ask those of you who can afford to help to please send what you can to keep us alive.
Our Donation Page includes buttons to subscription plans as well as a button for just a straight 'any amount' donation. If you'd rather drop something in the mail to me, my address is listed on that page as well.
Many thanks to everyone here - not just those who contribute. We've been around for a long damn time, and our members are the main reason people feel comfortable calling this place 'home'.
We know not everyone out there is in a position to help, and we're not asking you to. However, there are some out there that do have the means during these tough economic times and are willing to help keep this place the safe ad-free space we've all come to call home.
Thank you to everyone for making this such a wonderful community. Posted By: Istari on 03 January 2013 - 04:16 AM | Comments: 1

Patch 1.0.5 Today & Scheduled Maintenance |
Patch 1.0.5 has been confirmed for release today, and the servers are currently undergoing their scheduled maintenance for deployment. Here are the scheduled downtimes by realm:
The Americas: 3:00 a.m. PDT (10/16) to 1:00 p.m. PDT (10/16) Europe: 6:00 p.m. PDT (10/16) to 4:00 a.m. PDT (10/17) Asia: 1:00 p.m. PDT (10/17) to 11:00 p.m. PDT (10/17)
1.0.5 may be the most extensive patch to date, and it's been discussed at length in our ongoing thread there.
Blizzard has stated that patching to 1.0.5 will reset your user preferences, so you may want to follow the instructions below to get yours backed up. Thanks to T72on1 for the warning on this:
REMINDER: BACK UP YOUR D3PREFS.TXT FILE BEFORE PATCH 1.0.5
Tomorrow’s patch will cause for your game preferences to be overwritten the first time that the game is launched after patching to version 1.0.5. In order to avoid losing your in-game settings, you’ll want to back up your D3Prefs.txt file before patching. This file can be found in the following locations: Windows 7/Vista: - Start Menu > Documents > Diablo III folder
Windows XP:- Start Menu > My Documents > Diablo III folder
Mac:- ~/Library/Application Support/Blizzard/Diablo III folder.
***This bug has been resolved in patch versions after 1.0.5, so backing up this file should only be necessary this time around***
