- When cast, firewallmaker missiles are fired in both directions from target along a line perpendicular to the line between the caster and the target: static firewall missiles applying fire bit rate every frame for 89 frames (3.56 seconds) are generated in their wake.
- Firewallmaker missiles exist longer and thus travel further as skill level increases, resulting in longer Fire Walls.
 When cast diagonally, length of Fire Wall centered on target increases by 12 yards (6 yards in each direction) every 8 skill levels. Length displayed in tool tip is floor( (5 + 2*slvl) * 2/3 ) in yards.
- Displayed fire damage per second assumes three missiles apply damage to target (bit rate * 3 * 25/256). This is normally the case for size 3 targets, but only applies to size 2 targets when Fire Wall is close to parallel with straight edges or walls: otherwise 2/3 or 1/3 displayed fire damage per second is actually applied. size 1 targets only ever take 1/3 displayed fire damage per second.
 These Abyss Knights are both size 2 but take differing damage because of their position relative to the caster: the top one is only taking 1/3 displayed fire damage per second because the Fire Wall is parallel to the screen edge, so only one firewall missile collides with it; the one to the left is taking displayed fire damage per second because the Fire Wall is parallel to the platform edge, so three firewall missiles collide with it.
- Best cast on stationary targets or along the anticipated path of targets so that they have to walk or run along it to approach their objective.
- When cast continuously, maximum fire damage per second (achieved after 89 frames or 3.56 seconds, when first Fire Wall expires) can be approximated from displayed fire damage per second by multiplying it by missiles * frames / 3 * cast rate (normally just frames / cast rate). Cast rate is delay (1.4 seconds or 35 frames) plus action frame, so Sorceress cast rate is 35 + (4-7) or 39-42 frames, depending on Faster Cast Rate. For example, maximum fire damage per second for a Sorceress with 40 frame cast rate (63-199 FCR) would be displayed fire damage per second multiplied by 89/40, or 2.225.
- Since unit damage regeneration does not apply when as little as 1 bit (1/256 point) damage is applied in a frame, units that are not Immune to Fire will not regenerate while positioned over fire. [2] [3]
- The length formula above is an approximation, and is accurate for diagonal Fire Walls. Actual length increases slightly when cast horizontally.[4]
- When cast horizontally, 5 + 2 * ceiling( ( 38/3 * slvl - 1 ) / 16 ) pyres are created, and the wall length in yards is equal to this value.[5]
- When cast diagonally, 7 + ceiling( ( 9*slvl - 1 ) / 8 ) + ceiling( 9*slvl/8 ) pyres are created, and the wall length in yards is equal to 2/3 of this value.[6]
