The renowned Sorceress, Habacalva, once assaulted the elemental planes themselves wielding such an enchanted mace. Her enemies soon came to fear the mention of the weapon as much as her name. While active, all or part of a player's weapon normally turns red, taking precedence over any existing color, including green from casting Venom (although its poison damage still applies). Unfortunately, the only indication that Enchant is active on a mercenary or pets is normally the fire damage animation when attacking (although the mercenary screen can also be checked for Damage). Lower level can be overwritten by higher level, but not vice versa; casting equal level will reset duration. Skill level applies when cast. +% Fire Skill Damage from Fire Mastery and items is also applied when cast before adding fire damage to attacks. +% FSD also applies to melee attacks at time of attack, so it will be applied a second time to melee fire attack damage added by Enchant, Holy Fire and items. Character screen displays +% FSD being applied to ranged fire attack damage as well, but this is not actually the case. In D2R +% FSD (and other elements +% SD) also applies a second time to ranged attack damage. [1] Fire attack damage from Enchant, Holy Fire and items is added to arrows and explosions of Exploding Arrow and Immolation Arrow. Despite what the skill tree description says, fire damage added by Enchant is not reduced to 1/3 when applied by a ranged attack.
