Here's broadly what you need to do to get your Onyxia key:

* Go to Morgan's Vigil in Burning Steppes and get the [[http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1237 Dragonkin Menace] quest
* Kill a load of dragonkin, and then go back to Morgan's Vigil to turn in the quest
* Receive [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1232 The True Masters] quest, and go to Magistrate Solomon in Redridge
* Receive [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1227 The True Masters] quest, and go to Highlord Bolvar Fordragon in Stormwind
* Receive [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1229 The True Masters] quest, and go back to Magistrate Solomon in Redridge
* Receive [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1228 The True Masters] quest, and go to Marshall Maxwell in Morgan's Vigil
* Speak to Ragged John in the cave in northern Burning Steppes
* Speak to Marshal Maxwell in Morgan's Vigil
* Receive [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1209 Marshal Windsor] from Marshal Maxwell
* Go into Blackrock Depths and speak with Marshal Windsor (in the jail) who gives you [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=2053 Abandoned Hope]
* Go speak to Marshal Maxwell again.

* Speak to Marshal Windsor again, who will give you [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1909 A Shred Of Hope] quest
* Kill Golem Lord Argelmach and General Angerforge, and return to Marshal Windsor
* Marshal Windsor then asks you to help him in his [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=13071 Jail Break]
* You will need to clear both rings (the jail ring and the outer ring) of mobs, before you free Windsor. Also make sure that the rooms are clear of hostile mobs. Then just follow him and be ready for ambushes. Once you free Windsor he will tell you to meet him in Stormwind.
* Go and have your [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=13071 Stormwind Rendezvous] with Windsor, and then follow him whilst he uncovers [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=13163 The Great Masquerade]
* Bolvar will give you [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=3780 The Dragon's Eye]
* Go to Masthoril cave in Winterspring, and work your way to the back. Stand on the blue rune on the ground and get teleported to Haleh. Turn in your quest to her, and she will give you the [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=4132 Drakefire Amulet] quest
* Now you need to go to upper Blackrock Spire (UBRS) and kill General Drakkisath, and get his blood. Then return to Haleh, turn in the quest and receive your [http://www.thottbot.com/?q=4132 Drakefire Amulet]
* Now get to pwnz0rating teh Onyxia!

Gives you a 15% bonus to Physical and Holy damage you deal for 8 seconds after dealing a critical strike.

Consecrates the land beneath the Paladin, doing 120 Holy damage over 8 seconds to enemies who enter the area.

So far I have put points in Retribution for Consecration, switching over to Protection to pick up some tanking skills down to Holy Shield. Then I'll pick up Holy to get reduced interrupt on heals, and back to Protection to finish it off. 

Swapped Devotion Aura with the main tank, so he can get Redoubt instead. 

I am considering dropping Seal of Command, since I plan to use a 1H + shield for tanking. I think Seal of the Crusader with a fast 1H may be a better choice, to keep up Vengeance as much as possible.

First off why go to an instance at all? They are much more difficult than other areas of the game and you have much more risk than soloing. Pretty much they are just for loot and quests that give you loot.

Another point of view is that instances are the best place to experience group play. It can be very very fun to have a good group humming through an instance exploring and experiencing the adventure.

The level ranges associated with the instance are the level ranges of the elite mobs found inside from lowest to highest. This is why Onyxia is listed as 41-62. There are actually level 41 elites in there, at least according to Thottbot. --[[User:Jini|Jini]]
