First create an account, then use the edit buttons. You can create a new page by just making up a a page name and typing it into the url e.g. http://www.aphasic.com/wow/basinwiki/YOURNAMEHERE. You can then link to the page from somewhere else by just typing two brackets <nowiki>[[YOUR NAME HERE]]</nowiki>. Note, it's sometimes easier to make the link FIRST, and then just click it and start editing.  See the [http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_User%27s_Guide media wiki user guide] for more details.

Nope, it's '''unofficial''', meaning while Basin admins reserve the right to veto it, it's otherwise just a general tool for anyone.

The content is going to stay right where it is, it won't be sold or handed off to any other sites. Except! -- the only place it may move is to an official basin wiki when such a beast comes into existance. If the site ever needs to come down for other reasons (unlikely, it's on my own server), I'll gladly send a database export to any member who wants one.

Just a general meta-FAQ about how to edit the wiki.

What is a wiki? A wiki is a web site that all users can freely edit. See the media wiki user guide for more details.

Who can edit the wiki? Anyone can! Although Editing may be restricted later, but for now it is open. The nature of a wiki is that we can always roll back changes if someone does something we don't like. If this turns into a hassle, we may restrict editing to only approved account.

How do I edit the wiki? First create an account, then use the edit buttons. You can create a new page by just making up a a page name and typing it into the url e.g. www.aphasic.com/wow/basinwiki/YOURNAMEHERE. You can then link to the page from somewhere else by just typing two brackets [[YOUR NAME HERE]]. Note, it's sometimes easier to make the link FIRST, and then just click it and start editing. See the media wiki user guide for more details.

Ok, I made a new page, where should I put it? For now, links go in the following places: -Class/race/professions guides -- linked off the appropriate page for that class, race, or skill. -Instance guides -- under instance guides on the home page -Everything else -- under general guides on the home page. A more complex structure may be implemented later, but for now that should do it.

Who controls the wiki? Everyone does! This is unofficial, it's something hosted for the use of all. That said, Basin admins do have veto power over any aspect should problems arise.

Is this an official Basin Wiki? Nope, it's unofficial, meaning while Basin admins reserve the right to veto it, it's otherwise just a general tool for anyone.

What's might happen to any content I post on the wiki? The content is going to stay right where it is, it won't be sold or handed off to any other sites. Except! -- the only place it may move is to an official basin wiki when such a beast comes into existance. If the site ever needs to come down for other reasons (unlikely, it's on my own server), I'll gladly send a database export to any member who wants one.
