Profession Level Requirements

Primary professions and Fishing require you be certain level before you can train further.

Mining

• Smelting Copper ore will help you get to 65 so you can mine Tin. Smelt Tin ore then smelt Bronze. Smelt Gold and Truesilver ore.
• Patch 2.4 introduced new smelting levels so that you can train mining/smelting by smelting. For example, I was able to take mining from 184 to 210 by smelting Mithril Ore. Felsteel ore smelts green all the way to 375.

Skinning

Buy a skinning knife. Skin your kills. If you find an area where people are not skinning their kills, skin those too.

Secondary Professions

• There are no level requirements for learning Apprentice or Journeyman secondary Cooking or First Aid.
• There are no level requirements for reading the Expert or Master level books for Cooking or First Aid.
• The books are not Bind on Pickup so they can be bought and sold on the Auction House and can be bought by one toon and transfered to another.
• You must be at least level 35 and have exactly 225 skill level to do the Artisan level quests.

Fishing

• Leveling fishing does not require higher level areas. You can level fishing in the major cities.
• Fish while waiting for boats.
• Do not fish when you're tired. You will fall asleep at the keyboard.
• You must be level 5 to learn Apprentice fishing and level 10 to learn Journeyman fishing.
• At the time of this writing, there is a level 20 requirement to read the Expert Fishing book and a level 45 requirement to read the Master Fishing book.
