Primary weapon To begin with, the primary weapon is whichever weapon is equipped first by the player. However, after switching weapons or retrieving a corpse the weapon in the left inventory slot above gloves is normally equipped first. Weapon in left inventory slot is not equipped first if it cannot be equipped before weapon in right inventory slot above boots. If the two weapons have a different appearance, whichever is primary can be confirmed by observing that displayed in the right hand.
