This page is meant to be the basic strategy and roles of a Shaman in MC, BWL, and Onyxia. I will just cover the primary role which is healing. This is not to say it is the only possible roll for a shaman, its just the one I know best and the one that most shaman fill.

-Drop totems based on group makeup and spot heal the raid.
-Avoid standing near the Giants/Destroyers as they have an aoe stomp that also knocks you down. This just makes you an extra heal target and prevents you from healing as well.
-Always stand right on top of Anhilators to prevent them from running around too much. Also this is a good time to get some easy melee damage in while you heal.
Lucifron
There are a couple roles for shaman on this fight that I will cover.
While the guards are still up you will be primarily healing the offtanks, you will be assigned to just one tank. However you also need to be purging the mind control that they cast on people. If you stay on top of purging the mind control it seems to reduce the damage taken by the tank since the guards spend all their time mind controlling people. The guards have a cleave that you will want to avoid as well.
After the guards go down you have a chance to rest and regen some mana. I highly recomend taking that opportunity. If the priests on the tank are running low on mana you will be called in to heal the main tank. If the main tank healers have lots of mana still though you can spot heal the raid and help the melee stay alive. Healing dps = less downtime for them running out to bandage = more dps = Luci dead faster. Positioning on this part of the fight is key. If you stand too close to Luci you will get hit with his curses which can really mess your healing. There os a spot just behind the vents that you can get line of sight on the melee from but be out of LOS of Luci. It takes some practice to get this spot just right but once you find it the fight is much easier.
Magmadar
This fight is somewhat tricky for shaman. There are a couple different roles for this fight.
-The thing that most people will be doing is healing the melee dps. You will need to run behind Magmadar and drop your totems there. Tremor totem and fire resistance are the most important for this fight. Basically just stand behind him and avoid the fire pits while healing people. This can be a somewhat long fight so try to conserve your mana and avoid topping people off and save your heals that are close to death.
-The last role is healing hunters, healers, and ranged dps. The reason I've listed hunters seperatly is because their tranq shot is key to the fight. They need to all stay alive for the whole fight. This tends to be somewhat light on the mana so you can always heal some other ranged people at the same time.
Gehennes
This fight is fairly simple for a shaman. There is only 1 role for this fight.
-Off-tank healing. At the start of the pull you want to stand slightly down the hill so that you don't get hit by the cleave. It will stun you and prevent you from healing. If you avoid that it is a pretty straight forward healing job. After the guards go down start healing dps as needed. Avoid healing people that have the curse on them as it reduces healing by 75% and healing people with it is a waste of mana. If you get the debuff and need healing run out of LOS with Gehennes and wait for a decurse.
Garr
Another fairly straightforward fight for shaman. The role of most shaman in this fight is healing offtanks. You will be put in a group with a tank who will be tanking on of the fireswarns. Your job is to provide totems for and heal your tank. If your tank has one of the later adds to be killed you will need to try to conserve your mana as it can take awhile sometimes. Once your tank's add goes down you will need to either help heal tanks that still have adds or heal the warlocks and their voidwalkers. Not losing tanks or warlocks is the key to this fight, so do everything you can to aid them. After most of the adds are dead and everyone is dpsing Garr try to regen as much mana as you can. Since Garr has such a huge number of hitpoints healers on the main tank can sometimes run into mana troubles towards the end. Hopefully if this happens you have had a chance to regen some and can help out on the main tank.

This is a fun fight. By fun I mean hard without being insane. All of the shaman will spend the entire time removing poison from the raid and doing a little spot healing. The best way I found to clear the poison is to keep poison cleansing totem down the whole and manually spot clear the rest of the raid. Racure doesnt work very well for this since there are LOS issues and its not very well written. You will want to stay with your group for totems, unless otherwise specified. Before the fight starts figure out who will be seperated from their shaman <to be finished>
