The High Priestess of Zerae will teach select Amazons the secret of focusing the power of the goddess, consecrating a javelin to become the ultimate weapon of vengeance. The energy contained within the javelin is so powerful that its electrical energy explodes from its stricken target, releasing bolts of lightning that strike down hapless foes nearby. Swift and powerful is the justice administered by an eminent Amazon. Javelin attack does not require a hit check and thus always hits, but it can be blocked. [1] Bolts are released from point of impact or expiry of javelin, aimed at any targets within a 10 yard radius. Bolts released on expiry of javelin are invisible, but otherwise have the same properties. Both javelin and bolt range is beyond edge of screen. Maximum of one bolt will be released per target within radius, unless number of targets exceeds number of bolts released at that skill level: level 1 will only release two bolts even if 40 targets are within radius; level 39 may have the potential to release 40 bolts per collision, but if there is only one other target within radius then only two bolts are released. Although blocking prevents the javelin itself from damaging the second Slinger in its path, poison damage applied to the third demonstrates that this does not prevent it from piercing and releasing bolts upon each of the three collisions (note the three bolts fired at the fourth Slinger above). All four Slingers are within 10 yard radius of each collision, so level > 3 results in 12 bolts being released in total. Bolts are not destroyed upon collision and thus they pierce targets, normally applying damage once to every target with which they collide until expiry or obstruction. Thus multiple bolts can hit a single target (including javelin target). Pierce can greatly improve damage potential, particularly against large groups: when level 39 Lightning Fury is thrown, piercing four targets and hitting five, if 40 targets are within radius of each collision then 40 bolts will be released each time, resulting in 200 in total (compared to just 25 if there are only the five targets hit by the javelin). Synergy bonuses don't apply to minimum lightning damage.
