Dialog

Arphaun: With the atmospheric disturbance nullified -- thanks to your efforts -- we have begun successfully extricating Templar with our portals.
Arphaun: Of course, there's another problem. But then, there always is.
Arphaun: We simply cannot get the Templar out fast enough!
Arphaun: According to the Smiths, our current system is incapable of handling the load; there is too much activity on the network. Hmph!
Arphaun: It'll need a boost -- a temporary enhancement or enchantment.
Arphaun: Smiths onsite at Aldgate have established a makeshift hub for inbound portal traffic.
Arphaun: Travel there and assist in boosting their systems.
Arphaun: I don't need to remind you of what's at stake here, <playername>. For many, you have quite literally become the difference between life and death.

  • Assist the Techsmiths

Techsmith 415: Our systems were never designed for this, <playername>.
Techsmith 415: Opening hundreds of portals at once is almost impossible!
Techsmith 415: ...Almost...
Techsmith 415: Working with the Cabal, we may have found a way to exceed the limitations of the portal nexus -- far exceed!
Techsmith 415: The local Savants and Voices have drawn up essence conversion scrolls.
Techsmith 415: It's the old matter to energy trick. Only this time we're talking about transforming supercharged Demon matter into life-saving energy. A battery of the damned, if you will.
Techsmith 415: Talk to Alec. He's the Cabalist scroll-keeper for this one.
Techsmith 415: Hey, wait a minute!
Techsmith 415: Don't forget these blueprints for the power sources we'll need.

  • Take Items, 3 Power Supply Blueprints
  • Speak with Alec

Alec: Here in Aldgate, the Well of Midnight's legion contains a particular gland I can use to extract energy.
Alec: Kill the beasts where they stand, <player-class>. Rip the glands from their carcasses.
Alec: I have the scrolls you'll require to convert the matter into self-contained energy modules.
Alec: Once properly converted, the modules can be turned into a usable power supply, assuming you retain blueprints drawn by the Smiths.
Alec: Good hunting, <playername>.

  • Create 3 Power Sources
  • Check the Blueprints to found out which Battery Scrolls to buy
  • Buy the Battery Scrolls from Alec
  • (extra glands can be trashed)
  • Return to Techsmith 415

Techsmith 415: That should do it! Let's power this baby up. Keep your fingers crossed, eh?

  • Techsmith 415 fiddles and fiddles. The power station lights. Success! Success!
  • Return to Lord Arphaun

Arphaun: Hm. We might pull this off yet, <playername>.
Arphaun: Already we're saving hundreds more Templar...
Arphaun: But it's just not enough!
Arphaun: The battle still rages for those stranded souls our portals can't reach.
Arphaun: Even if I have to go there myself and wheel them out I--
Arphaun: Wait a minute.
Arphaun: Wait just a blasted minute!
Arphaun: Yes... Yes, it might actually work.
Arphaun: Give me a moment, <playername>. I have an idea. Hm...
