Battle.netCharacters are stored remotely on servers maintained by Blizzard, and cannot be played in Other Multiplayer or Single Player games. RealmsDiablo IIEach realm is a separate server with its own data. Characters and even accounts cannot be transferred between realms.
ResurrectedOnline saves are global. Players can freely switch regions for better latency, without losing progress. [1]
