It only applies to any cold damage or cold or freeze length (including Freezes Target) applied by the user. When present on two weapons, the percentages of both are summed and applied to the enemy. [1] [2] In LoD it does not apply to cold damage applied by pets summoned by the user, so it does not apply to Blade Sentinel or Necromages. In D2R it is inherited by Blade Sentinel. Cold Mastery applies to sundered enemies at 1/5 effectiveness (D2R only). It is only applied whenever a new source of cold damage or cold or freeze length is applied, so removing it afterwards will have no effect on current length; adding it after an enemy is chilled or frozen will have no effect either.
