Primary weaponInitially, the primary weapon is whichever weapon is equipped first by the player. However, upon entering a game, swapping weapons in an Expansion game, or recovering a corpse after death, the weapon in the left equipment slot (above gloves) is normally equipped first.
Weapon speedWeapon speed is calculated using the weapon speed of both weapons:
The greater the difference, the greater the effect:
Swapping weaponsEquipping order of weapons can change upon recovering a corpse after death, but death should hopefully not be frequent enough to make it inconvenient to double-check the preferred weapon remains the primary weapon (quickly remove and replace the preferred secondary weapon). However, entering a game or swapping weapons in Expansion games can occur much more frequently, and thus ensuring the preferred primary weapon remains so requires more care (since this can affect weapon speed and modifiers applied, particularly casting order of Chance to Cast modifiers).
Weapon modifierWhen the following modifiers are on a weapon, they only apply to attacks (including Dragon Talon, Dragon Tail and Dragon Flight) made using that weapon:
