Discipline Talents

Tier 1 - Unbreakable Will/Silent Resolve

Unbreakable Will 5 points
Increases your chance to resist Stun, Fear, and Silence effects by 3% per point.
Not amazing, but the best way to get started on the discipline tree


Silent Resolve 5 points
Reduces the threat generated by your damage spells by 4% per point.
Pretty worthless. In a group with a good tank you won't be pulling aggro unless spamming mindblast. If you want to spam a damage spell it is easier to use Holy Smite or Mind Flay and save these points for unbreakable will.

Tier 2 - IPW:Shield/IPW:Fortitude/Martyrdom/Wand Specialization

Improved Power Word: Shield 3 points
Prereq: 5 points in Discipline

Reduces the duration of your Power Word: Shield's Weakened Soul effect by 5 seconds per point.
Best discipline talent ever. Very needed in PvP where instant cast spells are great. Also of a lot of PvE use when shielding a mage to AoE.

Improved Power Word: Fortitude 2 points
Prereq: 5 points in Discipline

Increases the effect of your Power Word: Fortitude spell by 15% per point.
Nicely spends 2 more points for you after shield to go deeper in discipline.

Martyrdom 2 points
Prereq: 5 points in Discipline

Gives you a 50% chance per point to gain the Focused Casting effect that lasts for 6 seconds after being the victim of a critical strike. The Focused Casting effect prevents you from losing casting time when taking damage.
Not of much use but does open up focused casting which is ok.

Wand Specialization 5 points
Prereq: 5 points in Discipline

Increases your damage with Wands by 5% per point.
Until they add autoshoot for wands it is pretty worthless.

Tier 3 - Focused Casting/Mental Agility

Focused Casting 1 point
Prereq: 10 points in Discipline, 2 points in Martyrdom

While active, you no longer lose casting time from taking damage. Lasts 8 seconds.
Somewhat usefull, not amazing since most priest spells are pretty quickly cast. Your spells can still be interrupted by spell interrupt abilities.

Mental Agility 5 points
Prereq: 10 points in Discipline

Reduces the mana cost of your instant cast spells by 2% per point.
Pretty decent way to waste spells in the discipline tree. Shield, renew and pain are 3 commonly casted instant spells.

Tier 4 - Improved Mana Burn/Mental Strength/Improved Inner Fire

Improved Mana Burn 2 points
Prereq: 15 points in Discipline

Reduces the casting time of your Mana Burn spell by 0.3 seconds per point.
Not that great. Even with the 2 points you have a spell that is 2.4 seconds a pretty long cast in PvP.

Mental Strength 5 points
Prereq: 15 points in Discipline

Increases your maximum Mana by 2% per point.
Not a big difference but very few good places to waste points in discipline.

Improved Inner Fire 3 points
Prereq: 15 points in Discipline

Increases the effects of your Inner Fire spell by 15% per point.
More armor and attack is sort of nice but a priest doesn't use much armor or attack either.

Tier 5 - Meditation/Inner Focus

Meditation 5 points
Prereq: 20 points in Discipline

Allows 3% per point of your Mana regeneration to continue while casting.
Well this makes mana regen do something. Still not great.

Inner Focus 1 point
Prereq: 20 points in Discipline, 5 points in Mental Agility

When activated, reduces the Mana cost of your next spell by 100% and increases its critical effect chance by 25% if it is capable of a critical effect.
Pretty nice ability. Expensive to go this deep into the discipline tree, but worth it for a 30 holy/21 discipline priest.

Tier 6 - Force of Will

Force of Will 5 points
Prereq: 25 points in Discipline

Increases your spell damage by 1% per point and the critical strike chance of your offensive spells by 1% per point.
Discipline is even weaker than holy in nuking power but this does something for you if this is the path you are taking.

Tier 7 - Divine Spirit

Divine Spirit 1 point
Prereq: 25 points in Discipline, 5 points Meditation

Holy power infuses the target, increasing their Spirit by 23 for 30 minutes.
Spirit is the least usefull stat, especially since the addition of the 5 second rule. You can do a repeatable quest for Crystal Force to use as a spirit buff if you really want one.

Holy Talents

Tier 1 - Improved Renew/Holy Specialization

Improved Renew
Increases the amount healed by your Renew spell by 4% per point.


Holy Specialization
Increases the critical effect chance of your Holy spells by 1% per point.


Tier 2 - Spiritual Healing/Improved Smite

Spiritual Healing
Prereq: 5 points Holy

Increases the amount healed by your healing spells by 2% per point.


Improved Smite
Prereq: 5 points Holy


Increases the damage of your Smite spell by 2% per point.


Tier 3 - Holy Fire/Inspiration/Subtlety

Holy Fire
Prereq: 10 points Holy

Consumes the enemy in flames that cause 90 to 116 Fire damage and an additional 28 Fire damage over 8 seconds.


Inspiration
Prereq: 10 points Holy

Increases your target's armor value from items by 5% per point for 15 seconds after getting a critical effect from your Flash Heal, Heal, Greater Heal, or Prayer of Healing spell.


Subtlety
Prereq: 10 points Holy

Reduces the threat generated by your healing spells by 4% per point.


Tier 4 - Improved Healing/Improved Flash Heal

Improved Healing
Prereq: 15 points Holy

Reduces the Mana cost of your Lesser Heal, Heal, and Greater Heal spells by 3% per point.


Improved Flash Heal
Prereq: 15 points Holy

Gives you a 35% chance per point to avoid Interruption caused by damage while casting Flash Heal.

Tier 5 - Improved Prayer of Healing/Spirit of Redemption/Divine Fury

Improved Prayer of Healing
Prereq: 20 points Holy

Reduces the Mana cost of your Prayer of Healing spell by 10% per point.


Spirit of Redemption
Prereq: 20 points Holy

Upon death, summons a Spirit of Redemption that heals nearby friendly targets for 318 to 360 and another 343 over 21 seconds.


Divine Fury
Prereq: 20 points Holy, 1 point Holy Fire

Reduces the casting time of your Smite and Holy Fire spells by 0.1 second per point.

Tier 6 - Master Healer

Master Healer
Prereq: 25 points Holy, 5 points Improved Healing

Reduces the casting time of your Heal and Greater Heal spells by 0.5 seconds.


Tier 7 - Holy Nova

Holy Nova
Prereq: 30 points Holy

Causes an explosion of holy light around the caster, causing 80 to 88 Holy damage to all targets within 10 yards. The effect also temporarily reduces your threat level against nearby targets for 5 seconds.

Shadow Talents

Tier 1 - Spirit Tap/Blackout

Spirit Tap
Gives you a 20% chance per point to gain a 100% bonus to your Spirit after killing a target. For the duration, your Mana may regenerate at a 50% rate while casting. Lasts 15 seconds.


Blackout
Gives your Shadow damage spells a 2% chance per point to stun the target for 3 seconds.


Tier 2 - Improved Shadow Word: Pain/Shadow Focus/Shadow Affinity

Improved Shadow Word: Pain
Prereq: 5 points Shadow

Increases the duration of your Shadow Word: Pain spell by 3 seconds per point.


Shadow Focus
Prereq: 5 points Shadow

Reduces your target's chance to resist your Shadow spells by 2% per point.


Shadow Affinity
Prereq: 5 points Shadow

Reduces the threat generated by your Shadow spells by 5% per point.


Tier 3 - Improved Psychic Scream/Improved Mind Blast/Mind Flay

Improved Psychic Scream
Prereq: 10 points Shadow

Reduces the cooldown of your Psychic Scream ability by 2 seconds per point.


Improved Mind Blast
Prereq: 10 points Shadow

Reduces the cooldown of your Mind Blast spell by 0.5 seconds per point.


Mind Flay
Prereq: 10 points Shadow

Assault the target's mind with Shadow energy, causing 75 damage over 3 seconds and slowing the target to 50% of their movement speed.

Tier 4 - Improved Fade/Shadow Reach

Improved Fade
Prereq: 15 points Shadow

Increases the duration of your Fade ability by 5 seconds per point.


Shadow Reach
Prereq: 15 points Shadow

Increases the range of your Shadow damage spells by 6%/13%/20%.

Tier 5 - Vampiric Embrace/Shadow Weaving/Silence

Vampiric Embrace
Prereq: 20 points Shadow, 1 point Mind Flay

Afflicts your target with Shadow energy that causes all party members to be healed for 20% of any Shadow damage you deal for 1 minute.


Shadow Weaving
Prereq: 20 points Shadow

Your Shadow damage spells have a 20% chance per point to cause your target to be vulnerable to Shadow damage. This vulnerability increases the Shadow damage dealt to your target by 3% and lasts 15 seconds. Stacks up to 5 times.


Silence
Prereq: 20 points Shadow, 2 points Improved Psychic Scream

Silence the target, preventing them from casting spells for 5 seconds.

Tier 6 - Darkness

Darkness
Prereq: 25 points Shadow, 5 points Shadow Weaving

Increases your Shadow spell damage by 2% per point.

Tier 7 - Shadowform

Shadowform
Prereq: 30 points Shadow

Assume a Shadowform, increasing your Shadow damage by 15% and reducing Physical damage done to you by 15%. However, you may only cast Shadow and Discipline spells while in this form.
