Primary weapon To begin with, the primary weapon is whichever weapon is equipped first by the player. However, after switching weapons or retrieving a corpse the weapon in the left inventory slot above gloves is normally equipped first. Weapon in left inventory slot is not equipped first if it cannot be equipped before weapon in right inventory slot above boots. If the two weapons have a different appearance, whichever is primary can be confirmed by observing that displayed in the right hand. Weapon speed Weapon speed is calculated using the weapon speed of both weapons: Inventory Weapon speed Left Right Primary Secondary [ (WS left + WS right) / 2 ] Secondary Primary [ (WS left + WS right) / 2 ] + (WS right – WS left) [1] Equipping primary weapon in right inventory slot above boots results in buggy calculation of weapon speed when weapons have different weapon speeds.
