Cast order matters?

Applied to elemental damage before anything else (including Energy Shield).

According to some reports (1, 2, 3), the order in which buffs are cast does matter.

Sorry for not responding sooner. It's been years (over a decade) since I looked into Cyclone Armor, and I don't feel like doing so again. As far as I can see, all three of your sources were posted at least two years ago (2023-2024) but Resurrected was released five years ago (2021), so even if they're correct for Resurrected, it may be different for Lord of Destruction.
However, while looking at this wiki's Damage page I clicked a link to this 2010 comment in D2 Technical's Energy Shield, Damage Taken Goes To Mana, Mana Burn topic, and found the following:

There are a few other things that came up during testing. First of all, contrary to what you may have learnt elsewhere, Bone Armour and Cyclone Armour are applied before Energy Shield, not after it.

There's no mention of casting order, but it's possible that in 2010 Cyclone Armor was always cast after Energy Shield, not before it. Onderduiker (talk) 15:35, 27 September 2026 (UTC)
