Smite
Revision as of 16:38, 2 August 2011 by Onderduiker (talk | contribs)
Template:CSP The sword of a Paladin represents the might of righteousness and his shield symbolizes the strength of his faith. Both are tools he uses to mete out justice. Just as righteousness can give his spirit the fortitude to overcome the attacks of the unjust, so too can faith be a weapon to strike back at those who work to defeat him. To this end, the Paladin has developed several combat techniques that use the shield not only for defense, but also as an offensive weapon.
Details
Stat | Value |
---|---|
+% Damage | 15*slvl |
Stun length (Seconds) | min(0.4+(0.2*slvl),10) |
- Always hits and cannot be blocked when used by a Paladin: will always knock back an eligible target.
- Holy Shield increases base shield damage, as do weapons with Damage +.
- Character screen only displays off-weapon +% Damage from items being applied to 1 damage, when it is added to all other sources of +% Damage.
- Damage + is added to shield damage (before +% Damage is applied), although this isn't displayed by the character screen.
- Every Strength point applies +1% Damage regardless of the weapon equipped.
- Even though shield damage is used, range adder, attack rate and durability of weapon equipped are used.
- If weapon reaches 0 durability while using Smite, it won't actually break and become unusable until another weapon attack is used. Weapon can be switched or removed and replaced without breaking it, and it will remain unbroken upon entering a new game. [1]
- All modifiers are applied except for the following:
- Weapon base damage
- Weapon % Enhanced Damage
- + Min/Maximum Damage
- +% Damage to Demons/Damage to Undead
- Critical Strike and Deadly Strike
- Magic Damage
- Fire Damage (Casting Enchant may cause character screen damage to be displayed in red, but displayed damage does not increase and no fire damage is applied) [2]
- Lightning Damage
- Cold Damage and length
- Poison Damage and length
- % Life Stolen per hit
- % Mana Stolen per hit [3]
- Casting Life Tap allows life to be leeched while using Smite.
Source
- The following monsters also use Smite (although it requires a hit check, can be blocked and its +% Damage is not applied):
- Blunderbore
- Duriel
- Lister the Tormentor and his Minions of Destruction
- Uber Duriel
Skill bonus
- +(1-3) Smite (Paladin Only) cannot normally spawn on ilvl <25 scepters.
