Engineering

This skill is very important to an AvH focussed character. Most of the items produced by this skill can only be used by an Engineer. As such you need it to get the bonuses it gives.

The effects of some of the devices has been toned down in recent patches in such a way that it is not an absolute requirement to have for AvH.
