Talk:A Guild Wars Guide for the Diablo II Player
Revision as of 07:26, 27 August 2007 by CoonerTheRed (talk | contribs)
I cut this out of the PvP section I wrote (unfinished section on GvG). I think it was too much info... if they want specifics, they can go to GuildWiki or something. I put it here in the event other people feel differently, so that you don't have to reinvent the wheel:
- Random Arenas: In these arenas, 4-player teams are assembled at random, and serve as an introduction to PvP play.
- Team Arenas: In these arenas, arranged 4-player teams battle each other. Unlike the Random Arenas, team builds can be developed for the team arenas, synergizing skills and characters for maximum effectiveness.
Note: For character accounts created after the January 22 update, 5 games in a row must be won in the Random Arenas to unlock the Team Arenas.
- Tournament: Informally known as "Tombs" (causing no end of confusion, since the Tomb of the Primeval Kings is now a high-level PvE area), the Tournament is a global competition to hold the Hall of Heroes. In the tournament, 8-player teams are assembled, and progress through a series of matches, culminating with the Hall of Heroes. Unlike the Random and Team Arenas, in which the objective is to either wipe out your opponent or score more kills than your opponent, the Tournament maps have other objectives, such as capturing relics or holding an altar.
Note: For character accounts created after the January 22 update, 5 games in a row must be won in the Team Arenas to unlock the Tournament, now located at Hero's Ascent.
