This guide is an ongoing project that I hope to maintain, but stay tight as I fix it up! :) YuGiOh 03:28, 21 Nov 2006 (GMT)

Introduction

So, if you've clicked here, you're obviously looking to jump into the world of Guild versus Guild (or GvG as it is commonly abbreviated) or checking to see if you know everything you can know about it. Of course, there's also the chance you misclicked, but if you have, it's too late because I just killed your Back button. >:D So with the help of monkeycid's helpful guide (which is a bit outdated now ;) ) I'll attempt to explain everything that I can about the wonderful world of truly competitive play.

Starting

Well, I suppose we should start off with the basics, huh? GvG is a battle between two teams of eight characters each. Each team has a Guild Hall, the actual arena where the game is played. You might have noticed your own guild's Guild Hall before you entered the battle. One of the halls is chosen depending on both side's rating (we'll come to how they are chosen later)and the battle begins.

There will be a brief cutscene which many players skip and you appear in your base for the game. There are two ways to win a game, one is to make all eight members receive 60% Death Penalty. The other is to kill the opponent's Guild Lord, a sturdy NPC who has some special qualities to him. The Guild Lord stand at the end of the base surrounded by a bunch of NPCs inside the base and a few outside.
