Phage?
Hi. I'm a grad student, graduating real soon with a PhD, also looking for a job and preparing for exam. Guild Wars keep me sane during all that. Nuff said.
My characters have surnames derived from my username. Aphagela. Derived originally from "a Phage is loose" (Aphagelous - used in beta) but it really does sound better the other way around. Was an original beta tester but did not actually got (back) in the game until 2 years after release.
I hate to grind. Really hate to grind. I like new, fresh challenges and even experience familiar challenges with a friend. I also love to twink builds and to play different characters.
Due to time limitation, almost exclusively PvE player.
Add me!
I am on Valice Aphagela most often in game. Feel free to poke me for games. I consider playing with friends more important than achieving personal objectives, and willing to help with anything.

Valice Aphagela | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/valice1.jpg Armor: Kurzick Dye: Purple + Orange |
An adventurous ranger who likes to experience what the world has to offer, Valice embodies my personality and is thus not only the eldest, but also the most experienced in the family. She has done a lot of things for Cantha especially, even though she is a Tyrian. Currently Valice is trying to prevent Nightfall. Paradoxically, she has participated in the defeat of the Great Destroyer. How the time paradox could have happened, one may never know. Her favorite trick is dazing her opponents and spreading the love around. She also has the penchant of being among the last to fall in a party, when things go wrong.
Valice has recently acquired a black moa for a pet. Torn between awe and fear for the creature she was supposed to slay, she chose to befriend him, and they are fast becoming friends. She is named after my first dueling speedazon in Diablo 2 (US East).

Vanora Aphagela | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/Warrior-icon.png
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/vanora2.jpg Armor: Canthan Dye: None |
Tall and imposing, Vanora is known for her 'have axe will travel' mercenary spirit. She'd gladly help out other heroes in need as long as she gets a good battle out of it. In particular, she was especially helpful for Varetha, forging the path ahead for her journey through Tyria and into Augury Rock. Expect to see her when situation calls for a fearless, intelligent front-line fighter.
Her name is unique to Guild Wars; however, it was an evolution from Vanyra (D2 spearazon, later also Dreu Noctem paladin and companion of Evalia) and Vannor, my second dueling speedazon in D2 (US East).

Varetha Aphagela | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/Necromancer-icon.png
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/varetha1.jpg Armor: Shing Jea Dye: Yellow |
There are three things that helped Varetha in her journey. This hexmaster is not afraid to get her hands dirty, using all means and spells available to help her prevail, even when the approach is considered unconventional. She also relies on enemy information obtained from her more experienced sisters, helping her prepare the right hexes in vanquishing her enemies. She also has good luck and penchant for being seemingly unremarkable in combat, constantly underestimated by her enemies, who learned quickly that when Varetha says drop dead, she means it. Only time will tell whether these will continue to keep her safe...
My only Diablo 2 necromancer was named Varath, and later there was a barbarian named Vareth. Variations of the name continue to serve me in many games, but it was invariably used only for male characters. Varetha is the first character named with a female version of this name. Her pet is a Melandru's Stalker named Nekomancer. She is currently my first and only Legendary Survivor.

Valina Aphagela | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/Monk-icon.png
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/valina1.jpg Armor: Canthan Dye: Green |
Valina is a quiet monk, a fresh top graduate out of Shing Jea Monastery. Despite her focus in Protection Prayers to keep her fellow party members safe, she is known to utilize some unusual tactics to enhance her ability, and she even learns a fair number of smiting spells as well. She is still unexperienced, and easily distracted in combat when everything gets out of hand, but she learns quickly from her mistakes.
Valina was named after Lina, the Protector henchman from Tyria. A monk's playing style clashes with my midline style, so Valina is currently inactive.

Varalla Aphagela | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/Ritualist-icon.png
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/varalla3.jpg Armor: Exotic Dye: Yellow |
Varalla shows promise early in her training in Shing Jea Monastery, able to commune with various spirits with ease. This has been both a blessing and curse, as she becomes so attached with the spirits that it became very hard for her to choose from which spirits she should call for aid. This distraction means that while Varalla may not completely master any style of combat, she is very versatile. She has recently arrived in Kaineng City, ready to serve the Emperor.
Varalla uses the first name in my name pool for sorceresses. In both Diablo 2 (US East) and Neverwinter Nights (Dreu Noctem), Varalla is the name of my first sorceresses. While able to play as offensive or defensive ritualist, I prefer to play her offensively.

Valiere Aphagela | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/Elementalist-icon.png
Picture goes here. |
Like most elementalists, Valiere believes that a nice fireball (or equivalent) is the way to solve most problems. While she is very effective in using fire magic to fight for the Sunspears, she is also getting interested in the possibilities of earth magic. She is currently resting in the Sunspear Sanctuary.
Valiere got her armor from her brief visit to Cantha. The armor is not quite to her liking, so she is open to suggestions for other possibilities. She is named after an offensive-magic focused cleric in Dreu Noctem.

Valna Aphagela | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/Paragon-icon.png
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/valna1.jpg Armor: Sunspear Dye: None |
Valna is an up-and-coming Paragon who rather prefers to dance in the middle of Kamadan's town square and in every other opportunity she can think of. Oh well.
Named after a halberd-wielding paladin created in Dreu Noctem, which is rather fitting.

Valassa Aphagela | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/Mesmer-icon.png
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/valassa1.jpg Armor: Stylish Dye: Green |
Impulsive and headstrong, Valassa is an offensive-minded mesmer who still has not learned to protect herself properly when things do not go as she intended. Ever since she signed up to learn the way of the mesmer, Valassa keeps finding interesting new ways to make the life for her enemies miserable, and she has earned a small fame in Ascalon for slaying the Charr warband leader Torch Spitfur in seconds.
Since a mesmer is a uniquely Guild Wars profession, I found no good previous name, so I named her after my Dreu Noctem druid.

Avonna Aphagela | |
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/Elementalist-icon.png
http://i454.photobucket.com/albums/qq267/vakusuma/GW/avonna1.jpg Armor: Stormforged Dye: Green |
The only PvP character. She is an air elementalist who fights for Balthazar's favor in Training Arena and in Alliance Battles.
Named from a pool of wizard names used in Dreu Noctem. |
