- Attack rate is used when summoning.
- Assassin and Shadow Warrior can summon a maximum of five sentry traps between them, which include the following:
- Once five sentries have been summoned, summoning another will dispel the earliest summoned.
Once summoned, Blade Sentinel move back and forth between casting and targeted points for duration, colliding with and applying attack damage to any target it hits. Although due to next delay it cannot attack a target more than once every 26 frames, this becomes less important as the distance travelled and number of targets increases.
- Blade Sentinels cannot be targeted or harmed.
- Character screen does not display 3/16 attack damage when using a two-handed weapon.
- Cold length is also reduced to 3/8 when using a one-handed weapon or 3/16 when using a two-handed weapon: poison length isn't reduced.
- Poison length is calculated differently when multiple items applying poison damage are used with skills that apply less than 100% weapon damage: when using a one-handed weapon, poison length = [sum of lengths / (sources - 1) ]; when using a two-handed weapon, poison length is simply the sum of their lengths. - When equipping two claws, attack damage and bonuses applied are those of the primary claw.
- Only the following bonuses are applied, in all their variations (Based on Character Level, % Enhanced Maximum Damage, Against Demons/Undead) and regardless of source:
- Character screen adds Blade Sentinel skill damage after +% Damage is applied, when it's actually added before +% Damage is applied (although that from attributes won't be applied if the Assassin has no weapon). [6]
- Skill level, attack damage and bonuses are applied when cast, with the exceptions of % Extra Gold From Monsters and % Better Chance of Getting Magic Items (which are applied at time of kill).

- Shadow Warrior may also summon Blade Sentinel when Assassin selects it as a skill: BS skill level is based on SW BS level, but Assassin's weapon attack damage and bonuses are applied, not those of SW. [7]
- +(1-3) Blade Sentinel (Assassin Only) can spawn on ilvl <37 Exceptional and Elite claws (Hand Scythe and higher).
