The Amazon Basin - Great place for Diablo II and Diablo II: Resurrected information. We even go there. - The Arreat Summit, Blizzard's official site
Diablo II is an action role-playing game, the sequel to the highly popular Diablo (1996). Blizzard North released classic Diablo II (1.0) on 29 June 2000, and the Lord of Destruction expansion (1.07) a year to the day later on 29 June 2001. While the expansion added significant content, there were also several major patches (notably 1.09, 1.10, 1.11, and 1.13) adding content and altering game balance and mechanics. All updates are via the free Battle.net on-line gaming service.
In 2021, Blizzard Entertainment released Diablo II: Resurrected (D2R), a remastered version of Diablo II and its expansion, Lord of Destruction. D2R features updated graphics, modernized quality-of-life improvements, and supports cross-progression between different platforms. It received 3 major content patches, Patch 2.4, Patch 2.5 and Patch 2.6, which introduced additional content, balance changes, quality of life changes and numerous bugfixes.
Unless stated otherwise, all content is for Single Player and Ladder games of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction 1.14d and the most recent Diablo 2: Resurrected patch, and is intended to supplement the Diablo II and LoD manuals and the Arreat Summit (AS). Anything quoted directly from the game, manual or AS (typically dialog and lore) will be in gold text.
