While many mages spend their lives devoted to studying the transmutation of base metals into gold, the Necromancers have always had a somewhat different approach to transforming metals. Through complicated arcane rituals and great mental concentration, a Necromancer can summon forth a Golem from common base metals. The construct takes on the properties of the original source material, including any magical effects or other properties the original metal might have possessed.
Detail
- Only one of the following can be summoned at a time (summoning another will dispel the previous one):
- Can be summoned from any identified metallic armor or weapon on the ground. Cannot be summoned from the following:
[1]
- Damage, defense and other stats are calculated as though armor or weapon were equipped. All stats apply, with the exception of the following:
- Off-weapon +% Damage from any source (including Fire Golem synergy bonus) applies to the sum of any weapon damage and base damage. [2]
- Translucent when made from an ethereal armor or weapon.
- Level used in chance-to-hit calculations and in determining attack and defense rating is caster level at point of casting.
- Stats are set at point of casting.
- Golem Mastery and Summon Resist apply.
- +% Life from Battle Orders and Oak Sage is applied after +% life from Golem Mastery.
- Iron Golem thorns only applies to itself and is always overridden by Thorns, even if the Iron Golem skill level is higher or Iron Golem thorns returns more damage. When Thorns is no longer applied, Iron Golem loses its own thorns as well. [3]
- Summoned again in a new game if Necromancer has at least one skill point invested or a skill bonus. Stats are based on skill bonuses applied at the beginning of the game.
- Can open doors.
- Cannot be put into hit recovery or knocked back.

Source
- +(1-3) Iron Golem (Necromancer Only) can spawn on ilvl >24 wands and shrunken heads.
- Iron Golem summoned using charges will not be summoned after exiting then entering a game. If a Necromancer uses charges to summon one while investing at least one point or equipping a wand with an individual skill bonus, it will be summoned upon entering the game at the native level, not the charge level.
